I mean, how much laying around can he possibly get done in one day? He has to get up super early to get his couch-laying-down time in. He is dedicated, that is for sure. I'm really jealous, I wish I was curled up with him.

What else....? Oh yes, have you seen Jon Hamm's Vimeo on Rookie magazine? Do you even know Rookie magazine? It is for teenage girls, but really it's for the teenage girl in all of us. Think Sassy magazine (holy crap, how old am I?) just way Sassy-er.
Anyway, Jon Hamm dispenses very useful info to today's budding young adult ladies and it is mainly hysterical, heart-felt and very helpful.

G-POST a day late and Elizabeth and James

He has been helping me study The 5 Bordeaux Classifications of the Medoc, 1855 this morning. He is like, "OMG, what is the difference between Pauillac and Margaux anyway?" Like me, he prefers Right Bank Bordeaux to Left Bank. Spanky has a great palate.

I digress.

I was like "Spanky, I don't want to look at Bordeaux anymore!!!! I want to look at the Spring/Resort 2012 Elizabeth and James look-book!" And he was like, "Roger, that!"





We both like this outfit, for several reasons:

1: Short-suits are awesome.
2. Pink is fun.
3. The versatility. The blazer would look hella awesome with a dress or jeans.
4. Spanky thinks I would look awesome walking him in the neighborhood in this outfit.

Fun, huh? I think those Olsen sisters know what they're doing. They have decided to use their Child-Star Powers for Good and not Evil. Lindsay Lohan tried to make tights for Macy's (or Nieman Marcus?) and even they turned out kinda trashy. They need to mentor her.

The Big Night Dinner

So i know you have all been patiently awaiting for a post regarding "The Big Night" Dinner.
It was fun, I tell you that. My first Il Timpano was a success, and now that I have made it once, I can make it again fairly easily. I won't lie; I was very nervous and needed a drink and a Xanax afterwards. Hell, I needed a drink and a Xanax putting the whole thing together.
Much thanks to the BF. Could not have done it without his support, both emotionally (see comments regarding anti-depressants) and physically (that sucker weighed 30 pounds).

Me rolling out the dough. I had to move to the dining room table because I did not have enough space in the kitchen! This is a perfect excuse to build a new kitchen!

Lots of cheese, eggs, sausage, salami, meatballs, sauce......

Antipasta... Italian for "Pre-Party"

Slicing Il Timpano. My hands were shaking, for real. I felt like I was performing the coda in Black Swan. For real.

 

 

My guests honored Il Timpano with some bad-ass wines. That would be a Magnum of Barolo (Thanks to Uncle Ben!). And an Echezaux (Thanks to Uncle Tom!). Shut your mouth.

Cannolis!!!!! I made them myself!!!! (Shells were purchased)

I love a good culinary challenge, assuming it's not a wedding cake, or involves butchering something bigger than my dog. Otherwise, bring it on. I Ain't Skeered.

So I have been threatening for a while to throw A Big Night dinner party. If you have not seen the movie, you must! Got directly to Netflix as soon as you are done reading this. It has three of my favorite things: Louis Prima's music, Food and Isabella Rossellini (I dare you to say her name once. You can't. You have to say it over and over again: EES-ah-Bell-Ah ROHSS-ah-Leen-ee, EES-ah-Bell-Ah ROHSS-ah-Leen-ee)
